It was difficult to get a good picture of her poor little eyes after I was able to bring Izzy home from the Vet’s on Tuesday. (and the white fleck in there is camera movement)
The heamotoma swelling had gone down when I brought her home, and it continues to do so. The deep dark red is also lightening up to a fresher looking red, although still red, blood shot eyes.
She’s on a pretty intense treatment program to help her continue to heal. Steroids, antibiotics, pain pills & eye drops. The intense part is just me, I think. Giving her eye drops in both eyes every 4 hours is a bit of a challenge during the evening hours. I’m exhausted, but Izzy is gaining ground in the steps to recovery.
She’s showing signs of being her normal playful self, of which I have to keep in check, but all in all, she’s making good progress. I’m especially relieved to see the swelling go down in her eyes. She has a follow up appointment next week with an eye specialist, and then, hopefully she’ll be good to go. She’ll never play with her collar on again, though, that’s for sure!
THANK YOU FOR YOUR CARE, CONCERN & SUPPORT DURING THIS TOUGH TIME WITH IZZY. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, A MILLION TIMES, THANK YOU!! *hugs*
